Company E-mail and Internet Usage Policy
Voice mail, email, and Internet usage assigned to an employee's computer or telephone extensions are solely for the purpose of conducting Company business. Some job responsibilities at the Company require access to the Internet and the use of software in addition to the Microsoft Office suite of products.
Only people appropriately authorized, for Company purposes, may use the Internet or access additional software.
Software Access Procedure
Software needed, in addition to the Microsoft Office suite of products, must be authorized by your supervisor and downloaded by the IT department. If you need access to software, not currently on the Company network, talk with your supervisor and consult with the IT department.
Internet Usage
Internet use, on Company time, is authorized to conduct Company business only. Internet use brings the possibility of breaches to the security of confidential Company information. Internet use also creates the possibility of contamination to our system via viruses or spyware. Spyware allows unauthorized people, outside the Company, potential access to Company passwords and other confidential information.
Removing such programs from the Company network requires IT staff to invest time and attention that is better devoted to progress. For this reason, and to assure the use of work time appropriately for work, we ask staff members to limit Internet use.
Additionally, under no circumstances may Company computers or other electronic equipment be used to obtain, view, or reach any pornographic, or otherwise immoral, unethical, or non-business-related Internet sites. Doing so can lead to disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
Email Usage at Company
Email is also to be used for Company business only. Company confidential information must not be shared outside of the Company, without authorization, at any time. You are also not to conduct personal business using the Company computer or email.
Please keep this in mind, also, as you consider forwarding non-business emails to associates, family or friends. Non-business related emails waste company time and attention.
Viewing pornography, or sending pornographic jokes or stories via email, is considered sexual harassment and will be addressed according to our sexual harassment policy.
Emails That Discriminate
Any emails that discriminate against employees by virtue of any protected classification including race, gender, nationality, religion, and so forth, will be dealt with according to the harassment policy.
These emails are prohibited at the Company. Sending or forwarding non-business emails will result in disciplinary action that may lead to employment termination.
Company Owns Employee Email
Keep in mind that the Company owns any communication sent via email or that is stored on company equipment. Management and other authorized staff have the right to access any material in your email or on your computer at any time. Please do not consider your electronic communication, storage or access to be private if it is created or stored at work.

What will websites with links from Cornerstone do with my information?
Sites with links from Cornerstone site may be collecting information about you when you visit them. Clicking on one of these links transfers you to an outside website. We encourage you to read their privacy policies carefully, as their individual privacy policies may differ from ours. Links that appear on our website are not necessarily endorsed by Cornerstone.
What about Third Party Advertisers?
Cornerstone is currently a member of several third party ad networks. Third party ad networks collect non-personally identifiable information in order to serve online consumers with targeted online advertising. As a result of these partnerships, you may be served with ads for Cornerstone while visiting a third party website. These ads and the manner in which they are served are not managed by Cornerstone, but by the individual third party network or related third party ad server.
Advertising networks make information on their practices and privacy policies public on their individual websites. Cornerstone is not responsible for the content or policies of any third party website in which our advertisements appear.
What about spam?
Cornerstone abides by the anti-spam regulations set forth by the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003. To remain compliant and to protect visitors to Cornerstone and those individuals who use any services provided on the Cornerstone website, we adhere to the following statements:
Cornerstone only sends email to those of our visitors who have “opted in” to receive these communications. Individuals “opt in” to our email communications by voluntarily providing us and our third-party affiliates with their email address and submitting a form that acknowledges their agreement with our terms of use and privacy policies.
Occasionally Cornerstone will partner with a third party email server to provide relevant email advertisements to consumers we feel would like to receive these offers. We select all third party email servers based on their compliance with CAN-SPAM to ensure that our advertisements are not sent or received as spam.
We only select third party email servers that have obtained the permission from all the individuals on their mailing list to receive periodic advertisements via email.
If we detect abuse of our anti-spam policies or those rules regulated by the Federal Government, Cornerstone will immediately terminate the relationship with the offending third party email server.
To “opt-out” of (stop receiving) these advertisements sent via a third party email service, follow the “opt-out” or “unsubscribe” instructions that appear in the body of the email. These instructions typically appear as links. By successfully “opting out” you will no longer receive emails from this particular third party email service. Each individual third party email service requires you to opt out from their communications separately if you wish to stop receiving their emails and offers.
If you have successfully completed the “opt out” instructions but are still receiving unwanted emails from a third party service, please notify us immediately.
What does framing mean?
“Framing” describes a way web pages are presented. When Cornerstone presents a "framed" page, you’ll be seeing Cornerstone branding displays (scrolls, banners, etc.) alongside content from non-affiliated third parties Cornerstone has partnered with. Cornerstone uses framing in order to offer you additional products and services. You should read the privacy policy of any framed page carefully, as that site’s policy may differ from ours.
How will Cornerstone protect my information while it’s passing over the Internet?
Cornerstone protects your information with a process known as the Secure Sockets Layer, or SSL. This means that whenever you enter a quote request, your personal information will be encrypted as it’s traveling between your computer and our servers. To make use of this technology, you’ll need to use an SSL-capable browser (such as Netscape Navigator 4.06 or above, Internet Explorer 4.01, or Mozilla Firefox). You can tell you’re visiting a secure area on our site by checking for the lock or key symbol at the bottom corner of your browser screen.
Does Cornerstone use “cookies”?
Yes. Cookies are simply small files that are saved on your computer while your browser is running. Cornerstone uses cookies to make it easier for you to complete our quote forms. Our cookies are intended to make your experience on our site easier.
Cornerstone’s cookies are not used to collect, store or track your personal information. If you’re uncomfortable accepting cookies of any kind, you can change your browser’s settings to keep them off your computer.
Cornerstone may contract with partners who use what’s known as “ad-serving” technology. Ad-serving gauges the effectiveness of an advertisement by placing a cookie on your computer when you view it. These third-party cookies allow ad-serve users to recognize certain types of non-personal information, such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, Internet provider, and time zone.
Collecting this information allows our partners to improve the value and effectiveness of their advertisements on Cornerstone by delivering the kinds of ads that will be of the most interest to you.
The information collected by Cornerstone’s cookies can not identify you personally. However, the third parties who use them may be able to associate your personal information with a cookie if you register for products or services on their website. We recommend that you read the privacy statements on outside sites carefully as their privacy policy may be different from ours.
Does Cornerstone use “web beacons”?
Certain pages on Cornerstone, third-party pages where Cornerstone banner ads appear, and the emails we distribute may contain electronic images known as “web beacons.” Web beacons are single-pixel image files that are used to collect non-personal information.
Cornerstone’s partners sometimes use web beacons as a way to compile statistics so they can improve the overall effectiveness of their advertising. The non-personal info that web beacons collect cannot be used to identify you individually on Cornerstone.
Does Cornerstone log my movements?
Cornerstone keeps a log of both your movements through our website and your search requests. This data will be used to gather demographic info, help administer our site more effectively and analyze trends. Cornerstone does not use logging technology to share or capture your email address or any other personally identifiable information.
Does Cornerstone collect personal information from children/minors under 13 years of age?
Cornerstone neither knowingly solicits data from minor children nor knowingly markets its services to minor children.
